The Parkmore Medical Centre is pleased to announce that we have recently acquired the latest MICRODERM® mole scanning equipment. This has been generously donated by McArthur Composites, a local business, for the good of the community. This equipment can quickly and accurately detect early signs of skin cancer.
Details
As all should be aware, the incidence and mortality from malignant melanoma have been rising for many decades. The problem is that the difference between a harmless mole and a deadly melanoma can be invisible to the naked eye without proper equipment. Now, with the latest technology from Microderm, we are able to view microscopic Images of your skin, assisting more accurate diagnosis of malignant melanoma. Importantly, the use of this machine also reduces the need for many unnecessary mole removals or biopsies.
