Parkmore Medical Policies

The policies and procedures in place at the Parkmore Medical Centre have been designed to ensure a smooth running practice, which means less inconvenience for you.

Appointments and After Hours

Appointments are necessary for all except emergency situations. Please make a double appointment for complex matters.  Please notify reception staff if a procedure or specific treatment is required.

When the surgery is closed, please call our Locum Service on (03) 9429 5677. An out of pocket fee may apply.

Home Visits

Home visits can be arranged for emergency cases, if a doctor is available. All home visits incur a fee. If a Doctor is unavailable please call the locum service or go to your nearest hospital emergency department. These are located at Dandenong, the Valley Private and Monash Medical Centre.

Telephone Policy

To give each patient the best consultation possible, doctors prefer not to be interrupted by phone calls.  Practice staff are happy to take a message, and the doctor will return your call as soon as they are available.

Fees

Patients have the option of paying for their consultation at the time and claiming the rebate from Medicare. This is our preferred method of payment as the doctors are paid promptly for their service.

However as a service to patients there is also the option of paying only the gap amount at the consultation, and the clinic will forward the Medicare paperwork on your behalf. However this method incurs an administration fee.  The doctors would be grateful if the Medicare cheques that are sent to you, be courteously retuned in the envelope provided as soon as you receive them.

A list of fees is available at reception.
